On Sunday 9th February LSE hosted the Kabaddi Championships and England Men's team got to play a match against an All Stars team at the end of the tournament.
All stars raced into the lead getting England all out. Taheer scored a tackle point and a raid point each and Karmanya scored two tackle points and 3 raid points to knock England all out and into a 0-9 lead in under 4 minutes!
Points were shared during the rest of the first half with Tope scoring vital raid points and Felix bagging a couple of tackle points to get England back in the tie. Taheer continued his success with 3 more tackle points and Karmanya added several raid points to his tally.
The half time score 17-22 to All Stars.
All stars again started the half brightly, Shaheen picking up a two point raid and a tackle point to increase their lead to 8 points. But Tope crucially picked up a super tackle with an ankle hold on Karmanya. This set the tone for the next few minutes, captain Someshwar picking up a couple of tackle points and Tope with a great raiding performance secured an all out for England. England now into the lead 33-29.
Momentum is important in Kabaddi and England didn't relent. Felix picked up another couple tackle points and England whittled down All Stars to one player. Shaheen was the last player standing and despite an audacious jump attempt succumbed to the England defence.
With only a couple of minutes left on the clock the result was inevitable and the final score was 46-34 to England.
