Match Report: England beat Poland 62-47 in Warsaw

On 11th January 2020 England men took on Poland in an international match and beat them by 62 points to 47.



England started the game well racing into a 6-2 lead before Poland pegged them back with a couple of super tackles. Keshav led the way in terms of raiding and whittled the Poland side down to one player and the defence took care of the rest to secure the first all out for England. The score in favour of the away side 16-11.


From here England kept building on the lead and didn't let it slip away. Both corners Someshwar and Vinay picked up a tackle point apiece and Tope and Keshav both scored 2 point raids which saw England's lead rise to 12 points. Poland pressed back and with another two super tackles they reduced the lead to 7 points.


With all three raiders off the mat up steps corner defender Vinay to score an impressive super raid at a pivotal moment in the game to cement England's lead. England capitalized by adding a second all out and the team were in control for the rest of the half. The half time score 35-22 to England.



Similar to the first half England started brightly and secured the third all out just 6 minutes into the second half, thanks to some excellent defending and clinical raiding, England up by 46-26.


Poland probed with Piotr Pamulak having an excellent raiding performance for the hosts. They provided a late scare after gaining a couple of super raids but cover defender Yuvraj pulled off some late tackles and Phillip with a two point raid sealed the match for England. The final score 62-47 to England.
